In Memoriam

In Memory of

 Coach William "Billy" Myers

Mr. William "Billy" Myers, head coach of our Tiny Mites, suffered a heart attack on the sidelines while watching his team play on Sunday, October 14th , 2007.    He was taken to Holy Cross Providence Hospital where he passed away later that day.

We, as the Northridge Knights family, are comforted that even in his passing, Billy was where his heart was - with his team. To his family we offer our prayers and condolences.  To our Billy, please know that we will never forget that you were both a coach and teacher; we will miss you.

Christopher Ryan Houle

October 12, 1981-September 19, 2006

Christopher was born into a large extended family of football enthusiasts.  It began in the early 70's when his grandfather, Paul A. Davis, and uncle, Eric Davis, joined the Northridge Knights family during the "Chuck Adair Era".  The entire family continued to be involved with the Knights over the years either in football or cheer.  Several cousins had played football for the Knights and now it was Christopher's turn.

At age 7, Christopher proudly put on the #41 jersey, the same number his cousins had all worn and his uncle before them, to play on the Gremlin team.   He was so happy to finally be playing after all the years of watching.  Sadly, it was during this season that he was diagnosed with Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy and he was only able to play that one year.

But that didn't stop his loyalty to the Knights and the game of football.  He was a regular fixture at the games, cheering on the teams and didn't miss many cheer competitions either.  The Knights was in his blood!

In his early teens, Christopher was asked by the Mitey Mite team to be their water boy.  He continued proudly with this job for the next few years, happy to be on the field again.  When he turned 16, he was now old enough to be an assistant coach.  He loved working with the boys on the teams and had a great respect for the coaches he assisted under, Ollie McCauley, Van Stell and Paul Mugavero, to name a few.   He was honored to be able to be a part of the Knights family, doing what he loved so much.   He coached for many years until the beginning of the 2006 season when he sadly realized that this would be his last.
Christopher Houle was an inspiration to everyone he met. His courage, spirit and positive attitude will always be remembered.   He was PROUD to be a NORTHRIDGE KNIGHT and he will be greatly missed.
