The VYC Annual President's Scholarship &
Hall of Fame Luncheon - June 2009
Each year the VYC, with proceeds collected throughout the year from various sources, awards $1,000 college scholarships to graduating high school seniors who in the past have participated in our football and cheer program.
The awards are based on achievement in school grades and community service. The Conference encourages scholastic achievement first and foremost, while developing our youth in a safe, healthy, and supervised environment.
The VYC introduced its Hall of Fame in 2004 to honor individuals whose extraordinary voluntary contributions were instrumental in developing and sustaining services to youth in the Greater San Fernando Valley and sections of Los Angeles.
John Cardona, was awarded a $l,000 scholarship by the Valley Youth Conference. He is pictured here with his parents and Joel Bergera, the president of Northridge Knights. John plans on going to the University of Arizona.
Kristina Smolenski who cheered with the Northridge Knights, was also awarded a $1000 scholarship - she is shown here with her parents. Kristina is planning to attend the College of the Canyons.
Congratulations to all three of the scholarship winners!
